Ernie, hearty congratulations on managing to buy a house as a cash purchase.
I too would like a chocolate coloured Lab. but there's things standing in the way of that at the moment; we're renting and can't have pets, and the good lady wife-to-be would rather have an Airedale Terrier than a Labradoggy.
We've decided that when the time comes, we'll just go to the kennels and see what we see.
Also, my debt-free status won't be lasting very much longer I don't think.
It was imposed on me by bankruptcy and I need to start working on my credit rating if we are to get a mortgage like we want to in a couple of years.

Cheers! I'm gonna monitor the shelter websites come the time, but it's a slim chance I spose...

I might be preaching to the choir here about the credit rating, but this guy hasn't let me down yet

Congrats on the house, though i saw "chocolate labrador" and for some reason thought of an edible one!

This is Axel.

8 weeks old, enjoys sleeping, shoelaces, and sh1tting... Sadly not in that order!

Sorry about the link, I've no idea how Imgur works any more!

EDIT - I'd just like to add that he refuses to sit still for photos! He's charming everybody he meets and my camera phone doesn't do him justice at all.

Very cute.
Wish I could get a dog. Unfortunately pets prohibited by the landlord, plus being at work all day wouldn't be fair on the dog.
Makes visiting the parents and their dog even better.

Lol, I'll host a video somewhere when I get a chance.

Sadly the vet thinks he's younger than 8 weeks and therefore wouldn't give him his injection or anything else bar some worming tablets and some food (long story short I've had no fun with the grub).

However, he's currently knackered after running around my workplace and so is sitting loving his new bed. I might go looking for an adult one it's that good

You also can't ask better from a pup who whimpers/goes to the door when a toilet break is needed! Without being trained!

This is not a valid substitute.
I'll sweeten the deal by bringing you some Coca-Cola. (8+D

Alright, 2 cases of Ulster Coke, not that Uxbridge bollocks. Oh, and the dog wants a Veda loaf.

He's denying that and the persistent rumours that he licks his bits.

Nice one.

I'd love to be debt free. Mortgages are a killer, but it'll be worth in in the long run.

Same - although under 5 years left assuming we don't increase the overpayments - we made a lump sum payment last year and then split the reduced mortgage payments - 1/2 went into over payments and 1/2 we have kept to do some more fun things with (we (for e.g.) are for the 1st time going away at Christmas and let a hotel do all the hard work)

Nice! I have the joy of hosting my parents this year. Started soaking the fruit in booze for the Christmas cake last night. :D
