Are you going to apply, Mark? I am thinking about it, but after the BBC completely ignored my last email, I'll have to have a think first.

Apparently Jeremy Hunt is worried this will start a trend.

Surely if you want to know the name of the next one, you should look it up in Who's Who!!

Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee, Baker, Davison, Baker, McCoy, McGann, Hurt, Eccleston, Tennant, Tennant, Smith, Capaldi There have been 13 regeneration - remembering that Tennant suffered a Regeneration cycle (resulting in DoctorDonna), but didn't change his body. One speculation the BBC put on their website is that Catherine Tate will come back to play the Doctor (and a whole load of other names which I guess are red herrings) - I guess they could write something in the mythos about her DNA/essence was trapped in the Doctor]s body and it was only a matter of time before it bubbled to the surface.

Have you seen the list of names that's been doing the rounds as to who is favourite to take over? Apparently Ben What's-his-name (played Q in the last two Bond films) is the current top of the list. I'm really less concerned about who it is rather than how good it will be. There's new head of show, new Doctor and a companion that's only a season old. That's a lot of change. Anyone know how far into production of the next set of episodes they are? Mark

Ben Wishaw said that being Q and The Doctor would be too much, so I’m not sure. The new companion will be the bridge, someone to experience the idea of a regeneration to explain it to those who don‘t know. I wonder if the TARDIS will get another interior makeover. And while I’m at it, the recent cartoon release of Power of the Daleks is worth a look.

It's on a mental list. I think I'll be going for the B&W version. Mark

Adam Savage wishes he was on the list. He wants a time machine right now (via Twitter). I wonder why?

There’s a colour version? That’s odd. There are some nice touches, including capturing damage to the Dalek props (you can see it in the real footage that’s been compiled on disc 2), and the way the Daleks roll down ramps. Made me laugh when I fist saw it, and then I realised that a lot of care had been made to capture the *feel* of the original broadcast.
