That is an enduring tragedy from my childhood.
I was 14 and still recall where I was when I saw it happen.

Yes, there are events like that in life. I can remember where I was when the planes flew into the WTC.

Working in a skyscraper on the flight path to Frankfurt airport! We wondered why the internet connection was suddenly so slow, then news went arounf the building and CNN and BBC websites were so slow that it took minutes to load. People were running to the nearest break room or conference room to see the news on CNN on TV.

As to the Challenger disaster, news on TV at home...
