You know when you have seen something for years and yet never seen it?

When you have a dialogue that pops up and you have a number of choices to click on like this one.

I have never noticed the significance of the thin blue line.

The dark blue highlight on one of the options is to indicate that you can hit "Enter" to select that choice. The one with the thin blue line round it means that you can tap the space bar to select that option if you so choose. How odd that I have missed it for so long. I don't suppose that I am the only person to miss something obvious. Do feel free to share.

Heh, I never knew that!

I knew the blue hightlighted button for press enter and it always bugged me on OSX that you can't prees TAB to highlight the other button (as in Windows).

I will try it next time :D

Oi! I'm a Mac user of 20 years, and I didn't know about that.

I use Escape or Command-. :P

Escape works for "Cancel"

The thin blue line thing is handy when the dialogue gives you more than two options.

I just use tab or the arrows to select. XP tho'.

Shouldn't this be in the Mac forum?

FWIW, The Thin Blue Line was good comedy.

It pisses me off that you can't use the arrow buttons to move the selected button in OS X.

I didn't know space bar selected the outlined button, although I did know that escape worked for cancel. I'd still prefer it if you could move the selected button with the arrows and then hit return to select that one.

I'm sure it would help switchers too. I know I picked up the habit on Windows.

It always makes me VERY ANGRY when programmers don't put tab-stops on the controls. It's bad enough when they're in a stupid order, but it's increasingly common for applications to be completely undrivable with no mouse. That's just wrong; and also inaccessible which could be illegal in some cases. I mean, come on - it only takes about 30 seconds in most programming environments to sort out the tabstops. If it takes longer than that, then your interface is too confusing!
