Well, I've finally booked a physio appointment for next week with the Olympic Team GB physio :D (recommended by a friend).

Hopefully she'll be able to help me out with my stupid knee!

Anyone been to an appointment before? What should I wear? She said to bring some shorts but should I take full training stuff?

Physio's are evil. Really evil.

I've just been reading about the Physio I'm going to see.

The massage, at times, is excruciating and not what you'd imagine. There is no oil, flowers or music; I have drawn blood on my arm on occasions from biting it so hard and I sweat profusely.

... great... :gulp:

Yeah, it's not a fun visit. I've thankfully dodged the physio when I did my knee (all healed up very nicely, thankyouverymuch) but I had a mate who had to see one for his. Just think of the good it's doing.

Pain. Lots and lots of pain is what I'd be expecting if I were you, Oliver.
G'luck dude. (8+)

I've been googling the physio out of interest and she was Kelly Holmes personal physio in the Olympics!

At least I've got the best :D

I'm not sure having the best pain giver in the land is actually something I'd be looking forward to seeing, if it was me! (8+0

I had the Team GB surgeon do my knee. My physio was affectionately refferred to as "Cassie the Bitch".

Maybe it's foreign?

Well, I had the appointment this morning.

I went there and said my knee hurts when I run. She told me to walk up anddown a few times and then moved my legs around and stuff.

She told me it wasn't my knee it was my feet :D

My feet over pronate when I'm walking this means my calf muscles aren't working properly which causes my leg to rotate which means my gluts aren't working properly which means the IT band (huge tendon going from your bum to your knee) is moving in the wrong way and THAT is what's causing the pain in my knee.

I also have a huge scare where a muscle graft was taken from my right thigh and she said that would be causing some secondary problems also.

She then proceeded to try and push her thumbs THROUGH MY FRICKING LEGS!

Much biting of arm and tears streaming down my face. I couldn't help but laugh though :D I think it was ridiculousness of the pain.

I've got some heel raisers for my trainers and some strecthes and strengthening excercises to do to help also.

She also said the nerves down my legs were very tight so she has given me some excercises to loosen them also.

All in all and bloody good service I think! It should be law that people have a service every 2 to 3 years. Almost like an MOT.

I have flat-feet which causes similar problems.

I've got some inserts for my shoes, and as long as I wear them I'm fine. :)
