I'd highly recommend Ladyhawke and The Hitcher, and of course Blade Runner, but he had such a strong presence in anything I ever saw him in. He had a few films that were in post-production, and one still filming, so hopefully it's not the last we've seen of him, but it's still not the greatest of news. (8+( Mark

Oddly, my most memorable scene was Hauer in Merlin as Vortigern. I used to watch that film repeatedly. More than Batman Begins.
  RIP

I saw Blind Fury many years ago, and I think it's only fitting to watch it again tonight, and maybe raise a glass to Rutger. R.I.P.

I liked Blind Fury, I found it was well done, with just the right amount of humour, although his female co-start hat strange eyes, I found them kind of creepy back then.
I also like Wanted, Dead or Alive (1986).

Never a real A list actor, but certainly one of my favourites. Not all of his films were great or successful, but I certainly enjoyed them. Most recently I have seen Alle for En (All for One) a Danish crime caper comedy, albeit only a small cameo type role.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Anyone catch him the Dave comedy Porters? I couldn't believe he was in it. Probably the funniest guy in the show.
