OK. Get this - a remake of a remake. By the first remake’s director?

Cronenberg is apparently remaking/reimagining The Fly. :?

The Fly doesn't need a remake....instead Cronenberg could take a look at Scanners, for example. That could have been a classic with a better script and a lead actor who could act.

The special effects were shocking (in a good way) and groundbreaking for 1981. Err....it had a good poster too.

It's one of my all-time favourite films. It made a huge impact on me. The plot is pretty good, and the special effects blew me away.

In fact, I want to watch it again right now. Sadly, if I did then I'd probably realise the version in my head is much better than the real thing

Great film a a poor lead actor. Apart from that it was good. The effects were great for the time. And everyone talked about the exploding head scene.

I watched it not too long ago with similar reservations and your concerns are not unfounded. The acting was worse than I remembered and there are serious plot holes. The effects are still great though - instant varicose veins!

A couple of years ago, a film came out called 'Death at a Funeral'. Clicky.
It was very funny, as it was directed by Frank Oz, had Wash/Pirate Steve in it, and Daisy Donovan now I think about it.

Now, it's been remade for the US - Clicky.
Neil LaBute's directing this time, and let's face it, he's not known for his comedic chops.
Pointless remake? Oh yes.

I quite liked the fly remake. However I've not seen it for probably 20 years so not sure how I would rate it now.

Wasn't Stephen Fry meant to be rewriting Dambusters?

Peter Jackson is remaking Dambusters with Fry doing the script.
