I've just ordered this with the intention of keeping it until I have space for it (one of those sooner or later things): ![]() http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10189 Though I got it for £152 delivered off eBay ![]() I also thought these were cool: ![]() http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10187 ![]() http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10178 And I aim to buy and join these up sooner or later, again to be stored (probably 'til I move out going by their size ![]() ![]() http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10185 ![]() http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10182 ![]() http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=10197&L ... &ShipTo=UK As to the thread title, the best set I ever owned was probably this, many years ago: ![]() So what was/is your fave set? ![]() |

I've only had one set and it was the bogstandard basic stuff. Never been into buying the 'models'. |

I hadn't really considered buying and building Lego for years until I got this one cheap (last year I think): ![]() I have it on my shelf - keeping the dust out of it's a pain, but it looks class ![]() I'm also after this one but can't seem to get it anywhere ![]() ![]() Any ideas from anyone other than eBay or Amazon (they don't seem to have it) would be appreciated there ![]() |

I remember getting Lego Technics kit 8865 (thank you Google), the Test Car, for Christmas one year, and oh my, that was a good year. Loved that kit. Spent all day building it, and part of boxing day IIRC. ![]() |

When I was little, I used to love my emergency services lego sets. These days however, I'd be drooling over the Lego Star Wars stuff. |

Not sure if it was that set specifically ProfessorF, but I do remember marveling at something similar in the Argos catalogue ![]()
I seem to remember having something with a click-together rolling shutter, so I guess that might have been the fire station ![]() This made me smile (click the 'more views' button also): http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=10188&L ... &ShipTo=UK ![]() This was the only Technic set I had IIRC: ![]() |

A space craft that split in two. I got it as a child in the 80's, so finding and image on Google isn't really possible. |

I wonder was that the one I had - it used those little black/gray joining rod things for 'docking' the two parts ![]() Other sets I had were the Robin Hood one on the left here: ![]() A mini set this ghost came out of ![]() ![]() This bastion/fort, of which photos can be seen here: http://happysquid.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html And there'll be more if I can remember them ![]() |

I must have spent hours prepubescently lusting over the Lego section in that book. Unfortunately, my usual budget at Christmas and Birthdays was only a few pounds, so I usually just bought the boxes of bits and did my own thing. I did have a few kits. I've a couple of the original space sets which are now displayed on my bookcase, and I had a couple of technical kits. A helicopter and a tractor I think. The tractor kit could also make a dragster and a sand buggy, but I mostly just made fantastical machines. I did get them all out a few years back when Lady Feeona was living here, and built a few crazy wind-powered Martian walking machine type things. Her pussy kept on squishing them, and I did intend to make a little film. Sadly, Catzilla has since passed on so it will never be. I've not bought any Lego for myself since I left school. This is mostly because I just don't have the space. One of the primary driving forces behind my wanting a son is the excuse it gives to fill a room full of the stuff ![]() |

I only ever had a ton of lego blocks of different sizes and colours, a mish-mash of people and varying sizes of base-board. My sister made a lot of houses for her people to be "married" living in (complete with kissy noises ![]() ![]() |

I'd love to go to Legoland, but even I think it's a bit extreme just to pick up a Lego set* ![]() And anyway, stop putting ideas in my head ![]() * I wonder how overpriced their stuff is there ![]() |
