It seems that half the people (about 250) who have joined this forum have never made a post. I wonder why that is? If you don't intend to post why go to the trouble of joining? I don't have any sort of problem with it, it just seems a bit curious.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if "The person above" threads were accidently deleted. Also other early post builders. Don't get me wrong, post building is fun and I certainly see no harm in it. They do however make it a little harder to see what kind of active "hard core" the forum has attracted. The forum has stayed pretty pleasant since it started, though I do miss the Mac chit chat that I used to get at the other place. The Hardware and Software areas don't quite cut the same mustard for me. Does anyone know how the membership divides up according to OS of choice?

The obvious answer to that would be do a survey / poll on it. I guess it would be 2 polls. Preferred OS What OS's do you use ( multiple select ) Personally some of the people we "lost" I really don't miss, while some others I do, personal preferences I guess.

Some quirk of the forum. I am set to auto login and there is no reply or new topic button, these are only visible when I log out. By the time I have done all that logging out and in again I can't be arsed to make some inane comment that was never going to turn lead into gold.

When I had problems like that it was due to the colour and layout scheme I had chosen for the forum (for some reason) - you could try changing those I guess Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Now that can be fixed, I'll just check what themes are set for default Edited. prosilver is the default & has all the buttons you need (I know that as it's the one I use).

Do you mean people that have drifted from here, or people that never made it from that other place. (You know I am even forgetting what the name of that other forum was. )

This place was quite hard to find. It took me ages to find it, so it's only recently I've started contributing inane comments

I have a confession. I did invite one particular Mac user to join us. He never came over though.

Hard to find? Why? Have Dennis finally deleted all of the threads that mentioned X404? or removed the sigs from people who have linked to X404? I've just visited the PCPro "The Meeting Place" There are still threads on the first page from August!!!! It seems that X404 is known well enough over there- http://www.pcpro.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=337030 and that's the only thread I looked at. Shame on you ardub. It's probably driven Lindburgh nuts, being on his own all the time.
