So, I've started a poll... And yes, I know a Mac is technically a PC yada yada yada :)

Poll covers Macs of every hue - well, maybe not some of the madder colours from Apple's second coming ;)

EDIT - I guess this should be for 'home use' in case anyone's wondering :)

I have more fruit-flavoured PCs than the other kind, but I do own three PCs of varying vintages.

I have 3 PCs in a state of disrepair (I think one works) in a cupboard doing nothing, my sister has a Compaq laptop here (which I don't use), my father and I use Macs.

So I only use a Mac at home.

I have a 2 year old MacBook Pro (with a missing delete button, must buy a replacement) 2.4GHz C2D upgraded to 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM which I use everyday for photos, internet, movies, email, calendar, etc...

I then have a gaming PC which I rarley ever use although I often steal the monitor and plug it into my MBP so I can watch in 24" glory instead of being stuck with 15" :D. HD movies look SWEET on it! Although I imagine there are a lot better monitors available now (esp. as mine is only 1680 x 1050).

I also have a very nice gaming mouse CLICKY that I use at work with a dual monitor set up :D

Between me and my girlfriend we have 2 desktop PCs and two Vista-bearing laptops at home. This may get worse as I am saving for a silly-spec gaming PC and she wants a new laptop - the 2 1/2 year old Dell Vostro is increasingly unable to cope with the silly amount of multitasking she does - never less than 12 programs running including at least 3 Office apps :?

Would it be possible to up the RAM on the Vostro?

At home I am Mac only, but I checked both as I only really use my computer at work (primarily Mac, but with the odd bit of PC usage). After spending all day sitting at my computer, I rarely want to do the same when I get home.

I usually run at least a dozen programs on my Toshiba Tecra. It has Vista and 4GB RAM, but it rarely uses more than half of it. It is very responsive with that many apps running.

Same for my iMac.

Just bought a MBP 13" and a mini for my girlfriend's daughters... Leaves my with a Vista machine at home and an aging laptop which my girlfriend uses (about once every 2 weeks)...

I run two Macs and a number of other machines.
It depends what you mean by "PC", as you said a Mac is a PC. If we take PC to mean a machine running Windows, then I only run a Mac. If a PC might run OpenSolaris, then I run both Macs and PCs.

Depends if we're talking about home or work use...

Home: All Macs - 1 x 12" Powerbook G4 (1.5GHz) and 1 x iMac G4 (700MHz) - don't really use the iMac now, but can't bring myself to get rid of it. The Powerbook is a lovely bit of kit.

Work: About 50/50 Macs and PCs, though I work on a Mac mostly. Occasionally fire up a PC to test web sites and the like. Admin stuff is all PCs.

EDIT: Just seen this is for home use, ah well, I've already voted for both now!

It was spec'd to the hilt at the time of purchase and already has 2GB. I have hit it with CCleaner (200+ registry entries cleaned!) and done some general tidying, but it still feels slow.

We could take it up to 4GB, but the thing is a 3.5kg monster with 32-bit Vista, a 15" laptop that travels frequently, and she has her eyes on a Sony 1.5kg ultraportable... (she appears to be suffering from "shiny stuff syndrome" just like me, I guess that's why we get on so well!)
