As leaked in another thread  this months theme is:

***BRIDGE/S***

The Rules:

* PM me your submissions.
* ONE photo per user, however you may CHANGE your submitted photo at any time up to the due date by sending me a PM.
* There is no maximum or minimum image size, we are not here to discriminate against hardware.
* Only very light editing is allowed. Adjustment of Levels, Colour Correction, Contrast, Sharpening and Cropping is allowed.
* This thread will be closed at the specified time (end of the month). No extra entries will be accepted, except under special circumstances.
* Entries breaking these rules will not be entered.
* The forum policy must be followed.
* If you wish to remain anonymous even after voting has finished, then please let me know when you are submitting your image.

The Process:

* Please keep the image size to less than 1.5Mb
* Go out and take a photo, fitting in the theme and rules.
* Post your entry to me by PM, I will host it and post it.
* When the due date passes, the entries thread will be closed, and a voting thread created to determine the favourite.
* You will not be able to vote for your own entry.

The Tips:

* Think laterally, not literally. Makes for an interesting piece.
* Try to make everyone think about what they're looking at.
* Do what YOU think is right. Art is very subjective. What's great to you, sucks to someone else, etc.
* Title your work, it will make your choices more obvious
* This is nothing serious, have fun while you're doing it.

Voting:

* Voting occurs for one week from midnight on the last day of October until midnight on the seventh of November.
* After voting has finished the winner chooses the next theme within a couple of days.
* Once the new theme has been chosen entries may be submitted until midnight on the last day of the month.

Good luck.

Al

I think it's always best to get the new theme out there as soon as possible, that way we can allow for you to be too busy to post the official thread but peeps can still be thinking of what to do with the theme.

I was driving to work one morning last week, it was still dark out and I passed over the M40 on my way to the M42. As I went over the motorway, I spotted someone, standing on the bridge with tripod set up etc, taking a picture, and I thought to myself "what are the odds that they're a member of X404 entering the photo comp?"

Then I saw "Overpass" and am wondering even more now :D

Now if only you'd stopped and photographed the bridge *and* the x404 member photographing the bridge ... ;)

Overpass has a tenious link to Bridge/s but in the spirit of the comp I have allowed it.

I however will not be voting for it because there's not a bridge in the pic :o

Al ;)

It looks like there's one in the far distance. Perhaps the title should be "View from a Bridge"? It's certainly an angle I've entertained in my planning for this comp.

In fact, I've done enough planning. I just need to get out and take the frickin' photo!

Even with my puter specs on I struggle to see what's in the distance  Call me old fashioned if you like but I think the predominant feature in this case should be a bridge (of some sort) <- clue!!! ;)

I wonder what Anon has up his or her sleeve for this month :D

There's a photo, taken from a bridge, with a bridge in the far distance. It's within the rules as I see it. It certainly made me think about the image and how it related to the theme. :D

I don't think there's any point arguing about it. Now, where's me tripod?

*dashes out to take her photo*

Every month pics get votes that I can barely relate to the topic. Go figure.

Does it really have to have a bridge in it to be allowed in?
Like you, many people just won't vote for a photo if they think it can't be related to the theme.
