How much do you guys (and girls) sleep?

My sleeping pattern is quite odd, if I'm with the GF (who loves sleep) I will quite often get 7-8 hours kip. However if I'm alone I only tend to get 4 hours.

On 4 I'm a bit tired but 5 will do me quite easily, the latter I get up the better, if I sleep from 10pm - 6am I'm knackered all day but if I sleep from 2am - 10pm I'm wide awake.

Over the summer I was getting eight hours sleep, I was dropping off at 10pm and had to be up by 6am everyday.
Now back at uni my sleeping pattern isn't very regular. I've gone from king sized bed with just me in it, to a double with me and the purple one in it, and she doesn't like having the windows open 24/7 like I do...I probably sleep anywhere between five to ten hours now. I remember a time when I could head off to bed at 3am, wake up at 7am and be fine for the day, I'd do that for a month or so and then have one night where I went to bed at 7pm, and that kept everythingOK....

I like going to bed at 10pm'ish, I feel really good the next day, and I love waking up at around 5am (if I can get myself out of bed at the time) as the day feels HUGE!

I'm usually in bed at 10pm and asleep by 11-11:30pm. I'm up by 6:30am.
Although I'll be woken several times during the night by the baby so don't get any real long periods of sleep

I haven't had a refreshing nights sleep since I was about 15, irrespective of how long I'm in bed for.

Now I'm usually in bed about 11-1130, awake at any point between 5 and 7.

Before my accident I was a regular 3-4 hours a night sleeper. Usually going to bed around 3 am and getting up for work around 7.30. Immediately after the accident I slept for six weeks, only getting up to eat and deal with bodily functions. It took 3 years to get it down to 12 hours. Even now I sleep more than average. Sometimes it is once in a day sometimes ten small naps.

In my pre-pubescent years, 4 or 5hrs would work. At around the age of 13 that all changed and I struggled to get out of bed in the morning irrespective of what time I went to bed. 15yrs on and I still struggle to get out of bed every morning, but I think that's due to a whole host of other issues rather than simply my bodies level of tiredness.

I do feel better on 9hrs than just about anything else, but I'm able to take 35min REM naps to augment a lack of main sleep.

Not looking forward to being woken by a baby - if I ever have one.

My girlfriend has told me that is my problem. Fortunately I do not have sleeping patterns so can cope with constantly being woken to deal with screaming babies. :D

I'm not surprised!! If I'd slept for 20 hours, I'd be fine too

On a school night I am usually in bed, going to sleep by about 21:30-22:00 because I have to get up at 05:45 to drive to work. I try not to be later than that more than once a week otherwise I have trouble staying awake behind the wheel which is my indicator that I haven't had enough sleep. My Mister goes to bed much later than me during the week because he doesn't have to get up until 3 hours after me.

On Fridays we stay up later, we have our "counselling" session at the local pub with a pint and a bag of smokey bacon crisps, then usually veg out on the couch, watching a film and eating junk food until we crash out after the week, usually just after 11pm. Saturdays all bets are off, we go to bed when we're tired, and we sleep in both Saturday and Sunday mornings until at least 10am.

My brain and body just shut me down when I'm ready for sleep. I can go from wide awake and joking, to dead-to-the-world in a very short space of time

I need 7 - 8 hours of sleep during the week, most Friday nights I end up online gaming way into Saturday morning which upsets the GF by my zombie state on Saturday when the kids need entertaining....

I find myself recently having my bedtimes become earlier and earlier. I used to be able to go to bed at like 3am, then be back up at 8am and be fine throughout the day. Now, I'm lucky to make it to 11pm before I'm already droppng off. :/

Although last weekend when I was at weston, I was going to sleep at like 2am and getting back up at 9, so I suppose same difference. :)

Aside from the ridiculously early start for you, this sounds rather appealing. However, I'd need a girlfriend and a home. Neither of which are forthcoming.

My sleep pattern is all over the place, my girlfriend works shift and when she is on early, we go to bed around 20:30-21:00, getting up at 04:30.

I tend to sleep 22:00 or 23:00 until 06:00 when I'm at home.

Give it time, I had to wait a very long time, and go through an awful lot to get to where I am now on the relationship/life front. :)

Oh, I'm not in a rush! I'm not sure I'm cut out to be in that kind of situation anyway, but I guess people change and you never know.

I just liked the idea of the sleeping routine. Sounds delightful. Well that and the counselling session :)

I've always said I have two problems with bed – getting into it and getting out of it. I tend to get between 7 and 8 hours. I go to bed between 12 and 1am and get up at about 8.15am to 8.30am. However, on weekends, when I know I don't have to work the next day, I quite often stay up 'til 4am.

Oh, and I sleep better if I don't snore. If I snore, my wife will be sure to wake me up and let me know about it.
