Looking at the absence of thumb buttons, I suppose lefties don't qualify for open source elitism. The sad thing is, I know one or two people who would probably buy one. ![]() |

The only thing I like about that mouse is the flash memory. That's a nice idea - I often switch between machines but use the same mouse. Other than that it's complete crap - just like OpenOffice itself! Pages ftw. |

The mouse appears to not be open source though... And if it was, you'd be allowed to change it to suit your needs! As to OpenOffice, it's a brilliant product for the price. It's stable, a little sluggish, but is packed with most of the features I certainly need from a word processor and spreadsheet application, though I'll agree that the presentation application, like PowerPoint, leaves a lot to be desired! |

OO's definitely a little sluggish on my netbook (takes ages to load, right click menu isn't much better etc), though I appreciate a netbook isn't the best testing ground ![]() |

It isn't very stable on long documents - it doesn't crash, but it stops applying formatting when you change a paragraph style, for example; then the only option is to quit and restart OO.o. |

Alarmingly, I am reminded of the Quinkey thing you could get for the BBC Micro. http://cylob.blogspot.com/2008/01/quinkey.html http://www.naec.org.uk/artefacts/photos ... y.JPG/view That was a real PITA to get the hang of. We had one at school, and you used your hand to “squeeze” the letter shape, and it appeared on the screen. I think that £49.95 was the biggest waste of money the IT teacher ever made. |
