I remember a tycoon featuring railroads. You have to get a resource eg forest wood to its processing plant using trains (Amongst other things).
Will have a look see at this.

It is open - OpenTTD, installable in Ubuntu 9.10. You will need to have graphics files from the original game. What you mustn't do is DL the game then use the instructions on the OpenTTD wiki - that would be naughty.

Got it working. Definitely remember this game - I think I used to play the demo a lot which restricted you to just using the train to do everything.

OMG! This game is amazing! I've never played it before but it's awesome! I've currently got a nice map going. Still got plenty of supply and demand not being used but I have 4 stations all using one way lines with 5 trains servicing them including passengers, mail, wood and ore. About to set up a mainline route between two towns to grab the bonus and also so I can piggy back goods across it also
