Should our musical hero's hang up their skin tight jeans and guitars at a certain age or keep rocking until they fall down?? |

They should do whatever they want. If they want to stop, that's fine, if they want to continue then that is also fine. |

Ah, yes - good point. If they want to stop then obviously they should, but I don't think age should be a reason why they *have* to stop. |

In this day and age - excuse the pun - age should not be a reason to stop anything unless you want to or have to. I still crack jokes with my 72 year old mother and treat her like a 40 year old. Might take her a little longer to get the jokes mind you! We have 50 somethings prancing around stage like a stripper (sorry Madge) and 70 somethings running marathons so why the hell not?? |

I say keep on rocking. Some of these people should have died from their drug intake long ago - they're a different breed!

I'm a big pink Floyd fan but bands like Muse are just [LIFTED] great to listen to loud in the car when you’re all alone....... Air guitar champ (me) comes to mind... Any for me there is room for both old and modern rock bands, it’s all about choice. |

Let the "disenfranchised teen" listen to their own generation of bands. If rockers want to keep on rockin' then that's fine by me. Some of 'em I don't much care for, that doesn't mean I want to see 'em retire from the scene. Each to their own Jon, but your argument doesn't really hold much water. Robert plant is still making music that I like. If you had your way he wouldn't be and that, to my mind, would be a real shame. That's just one example, but by no means the only one out there. Mark |

I've just thought of another one: Paul Weller's last album was ace. One of my favourites of the last year or so. |

Some shouldn't, even young ones. I'd like to take the member of Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and the 'Feeling', confiscate their instruments and banish them to enldess days of listening to Motorhead 'Orgasmatron' in solitary confinement. |

Paul Weller was good in the Jam. Not so good in the Style Council and his solo carerr was abysmal. He even has the nerve to attempt Guitar Solo's and surely ranks up there with Noel Gallagher as one of the worlds worse guitarists, they can't even play in tune. |

Mmmm, Steak & Kidney. I have no preference on this one, if they continue to produce music people enjoy, why not carry on. On the other hand, if they've lost the taste for it, you can't blame them for bailing out. I won't sit here a say which ones should pack up, just because their music doesn't float my boat. Which is exactly what this reads like...
I'm no Paul Weller fan, although I don't mind his music, but his albums are generally well received in the music press. I don't like Oasis or the Gallaghers at all, but they have managed to make millions from their music, which more than I've ever done with my life. |

Well said. I don't like Oasis much but appreciate they've done some good music and are well liked. I am a Paul Weller fan and have loved every carnation. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. |
