You need to upload an icon file if memory serves. I'll find a guide for you.

Internet Explorer Favourites Icon?

It's not just the preserve of Internet Explorer. John, this isn't aimed at you, because I know you know better, but clearly, some people don't.

To the OP, it's called a favicon, and while the link that John provided adequately explains how to create one, it doesn't say that it works in just about any modern web browser that you care to mention.

In my web folder I have a directory called "img", inside that folder I have aPNG file called favicon.png

In my index.html file I have the follwoing line in the header:
Code:
<link rel="icon" type="imahe/png" href="img/favicon.png"

You can see it use here:
[url=users.aber.ac.uk/bil6]users.aber.ac.uk/bil6[/url]

I can't vouch for IE, but it works in firefox, Camino, Opera and Safari :)

If you build a favicon into your webpage, it'll save into your bookmarks/favourites.
I did with My Website. It's just a smaller version of my forum avatar.
I used THIS website to make a favicon from a larger image on my hard drive.
You just need a little bit of code for the webpage.
Quote:
add this after <head> :-

Code I was given as an example:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.btinternet.com/~nathan.taylor/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon">

My actual code:
<link rel="shortcut icon"
href="http://www.xanthanwolf.co.uk/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon">

Make an icon called favicon.ico, upload it to your web page.
obviously change the code so it has the correct address. Once you've bookmarked the page, you'll need to click on it so it'll load the image into the bookmark.
I think I'm right in saying this works for both FF and IE. It certainly works for FF as that's what I use.

That leaves out IE on the mac :lol:

I'm still amazed that so many people swear by IE. I am spreading the firefox word :)
