Without divulging too much (so SPOILERS) there are a couple of CGI characters in Rogue One which seemed to be just a few degrees “off”. The one at the end of the film seemed to, err, m glow to much. I’m not sure what the correct setting in your rendering software is called, but from my limited experience with Poser, it felt like sub surface scattering (calculating how light behaves in skin) had been over cranked.

Apart from that, a pretty decent film, I felt. It had the edge on The Force Awakens, and some nice familiar bits from the original trilogy to keep fans happy.

We (myself and SWMBO) went and saw it the other night - both enjoyed it and it was a good linking story between the 2 series

The only think I think they missed was calling it "Project Bothan" as in the quote from the original film - "Many Bothans died to bring us this information."

You'd think the first thing the company would do is digitise everything, wouldn't you? Out of sheer paranoia if nothing else...

I figured people here would know from the title of the article, but I'll keep it in mind in future.

I liked it and I'm not a massive SW fan.

Yeah the general consensus is it's good. It may be worth my annual trek to the cinema for this one.

I took the boys to see it on xmas eve. Really enjoyed it - more so than Ep VII.

There were a couple of things that irked me, but the only real annoyance was the CG on a couple of characters - not so much much the second one for obvious reasons, but I found the first really distracting, and entirely unnecessary.

What do you do when an actor in a beloved and integral decades old role has a major part in your next film that they have completed principal photography on and an even bigger role in the film after that which hasn't started production yet, dies?

Right now I would not like to be in the shoes of either Kathleen Kennedy or Colin Trevorrow.
Both of which have very tough decisions to make whilst still grieving.

Mark

They do have a CGI model, and as long as it doesn’t look like there’s a 100 watt lightbulb inside it ...

On the evidence so far, this doesn't look too good. Hopefully they can find a dimmer switch or something.

Saw Rogue One last night. Really enjoyed it although I could kind of see where some of the online criticism has come from about the lack of character development in a number of cases.
On the plus side, the space battles were good and we must be up to double figures of women who can talk in the SW universe now as well.
