IT'S [LIFTED]!

I know what I'll do. I'll spend years researching a new interface for Sky+ and accomplish the following:

Text too small
Text too narrow
Colours not contrasting enough - blue on gray FFS
Colours used inappropriately so that certain menu sections are hard to read
Fcuk ugly colour scheme - Blue, white, gray and orange?
Incredible menu latency
Feedback latency too high

Seriously, why is it that I, an electronics engineer with specialisms in AV, Sound, Lighting, Programmable Electronics and Digital Image Processing, can't get a job? I'll design you an interface Murdoch - so you can sack the entire team of talentless, Audi-driving, touchscreen-phone-posing, idea-free globules of avian diaorrhoea that conjured up this gawdy monstrosity from the satanic depths of Windows 2000's abortion bucket.

Who did you test this on? I'm guessing nobody with an IQ above that of a potted cactus.
What screens did you test it on? Certainly not a 26"
If you did indeed test it how much of the feedback was ignored?
And why, oh why was this piece of [LIFTED] installed without my being asked?

All in all I award you a grand FAIL

Right - any ideas who I complain to? I'm so pissed off I can't use Google properly

Don't hold back now. Tell us exactly how you feel about this. :D

There are quite a few TV related interfaces that are quite frankly a steam heap of poo.
I'm massively underwhelmed by quite a few Freeview interfaces.

I was thinking the same. It was the normal blue and white for me with that crappy annoying music which I always have to mute.

I'm thinking my box is on it's way out now. I'm getting 'juddering' during recorded shows, it's like a tape that keeps skipping and over the weekend it did a full power down about 3 times. It was bad enough to fail the recordings I was doing. How rude ;)

I should be able to pick a basic sky+ box up on ebay for about £40 unless anyone has any better ideas. Looks like Sky are offering them for £49 but only with multiroom which I don't need.

It changed on HD boxes a few months ago.

I upgraded a couple of weeks ago, and have noticed the new GUI, but haven't used it yet... it's the wife and kids who have been watching telly. I'll ask what they think of it.

I should say at this point that some of what they've done is really good. The settings menus are much better and the mini TV window is excellent.

However the window one sees when changing channels is catastrophically bad.

I like the new interface on HD, the only time you get a problem is if you come out of watching a recording and sky has switched channels to record a program and it appears on the mini screen and you you’ve caught it just at the ending.... normally Eastenders and the GF goes mad trying to switch the channel over, off, on or anything that will get the mini screen off

The search option is a lot better
