We live out in the country so its normal to have a house mouse.

I've found that the basic mousetraps, baited with a bit of peanut butter, work fine. The only problem can be dealing with the grisly results the next morning. Out cat is quite efficient at finding mice but has a tendency to drop them - alive - in the house and I'm not putting up with that. |

I had a mouse eat through the installation around the drip tray behind the fridge and work his way into the fridge for a feast.... Got one of the plastic spring traps trimmed down the holding pin which made the trap super sensitive.... Stuck behind fridge with chocolate as bait..... Worked a 'treat' |

The mice in my room seem to be coming in from behind the desk. This is a desk which is so huge and heavy that even if I removed all six drawers, would still need 2-3 men to move it any reasonable distance to allow inspection behind it. I think what surprises me is both mice (this one and the one I caught last weekend) are both less "shy and retiring". They seem to know I'm not gonna do jack to them, don't respond to loud noises (like me barking like a dog at them) and seem to be able to set off traps with minor injuries rather than dying. Mofos. Are BB air guns or similar legal in the UK? The mouse last night I thought had been another one that had narrowly missed death and was only mildly injured. It sat there for a good ten minutes. If I had a gun, it would have been dead. Ideas on legal weapons? I don't want to spray disease-ridden blood everywhere. |
