What fails have our forumites witnessed/been a part of recently?

I was just opening a bottle of cyder with my lighter when my hand slipped and I sliced my hand open. It REALLY hurts, and it's right on the knuckle so it keeps opening up the wound when I close my fist.

Hi, use your other hand, then you will not have to close your fist ;)

Standing in Sainsburys talking away to my three year old nephew like, 'Your mummy's taking ages, isn't she?', and 'So what's Santa bringing you?'

I had completely failed to notice that he was standing there literally pissing himself

I'm glad I'm not a child any more, it can be quite stressful. Mind you having said that...

Just the other day, an idiot in a VW Corrado nearly crashed into me, because he was driving like a pillock in icy conditions.

Thankfully, we never made contact, and I sat there while he five-pointed it around, shaking my head and muttering "dickhead". I had completey forgotten my four year old was in the back and spent the next 15 minutes trying to stop him from saying "dickhead".

+1 for the drivers who think that scraping a tiny peep hole through the ice on their windscreen is adequate.

I've just done something quite similar, without the excuse of alcohol being involved.

Pulling a cable through a hole; it was a bit stuck so I gave it a good yank... and left half my knuckles on the brickwork when it came free.

"Ouch" I said.

And from the other thread:

When configuring network thingies, it's best not to break the one you're using for remote access to the mission critical server in a secure facility in Docklands. Especially when it's snowing and you're 70 miles away. Aaarggg! One careless click followed by 5 hours of panicking. . .

Didn't we have a "What was the stupidest thing you done today?" thread, or was that the old place?

I guess we do now

Changing the wheel on the car, hand slipped, removed all signs and traces of skin from 1 x knuckle (ok, not quite as severe as that but I am a bloke, i'm on deaths door when I get a cold!)

Didnt swear oddly.

Watching batman, ran up the stairs to go to the loo, started doing my thing and then noticed the slats on the window-blind were moving strangely and they started moving towards me violently.

Next think I know i'm waking up on the floor, pee everywhere with my housemates knocking on the door asking if I was alright.

Yup. I fainted. Out cold for over 5 seconds ^_^
