Anyone got any experience with T-mobile? They're the only network who seems to offer any kind of 3G coverage where I live and they're offering more minutes and better internet MB allowance than any other provider - for less money! I'm sorely tempted. I've read that it takes T-mobile longer to release firmware updates for 'phones because they like to brand them extensively, but I think I could put up with this. Any experiences with them anyone would care to share? |

Their customer support is the worst I have experienced. They told me I had to buy a new phone because mine is broken. Even though it's still in warranty. All because my father pays the bill (though I am the account holder) and he can't make it into a T-mobile shop. They lie to you blatantly ("it says in our records that when the account was set up the person you spoke to in the shop asked you to set up a password and you refused"... Er.... I took out the contract online). Also their reception is dodgy at best (though this could be improved with the T-mobile/Orange merger). I barely get any 3g in the centre of london, leeds and newcastle (my three most frequented stops for using 3g). The free 'credit' you get on the flext only counts towards mobiles and landlines. Heaven forbid you want to phone anything else. Having said that they're cheaper than many other companies. I got my G1 for free on flext 35, paying £30 a month, unlimited free internet. Still though my bill manages to exceed £60 sometimes because of their 'hidden' charges, even when i've not even used half of my £160 free credit they give me every month. My advice - don't go with them. Or buy my contract off me! >.< |

Such as? They're offering 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £30/month, I can't see how it could possibly go over this? They also claim to have good 3G coverage in all the places I intend to use it. If I find out otherwise I won't be happy. :/ |

Sounds like Orange - you can have millions of minutes and texts, but you'll find that some calls and texts fall outside of your inclusive allowance. O2 will charge you a couple of text messages from your bundle for a MMS message, but Orange will add it on separately, depending on the weird animal-branded talk plan. When I was with them I had trouble using my minutes and texts, but my bills were always more than the usual price for the plan. |

Well it covers all UK mobile numbers and all 01, 02 and 03 numbers so I can't see where I'm going to be stung. I'm on Vodafone at the moment, and the only things I pay extra for are MMS messages, which I don't mind since I use them so infrequently. |

I bought a t-mobile 3g dongle. Was also on T-mob payg at the time. When I lived in one flat, everything was fine with maximum reception. When I moved, unfortunately the new flat had no reception for the dongle. The area was poorly suppled even for phone usage. Make sure you can test it out and return it same day if there's a problem with reception. |

Yes. I had a Sony Ericsson W850i with them. It was absolute tripe. Shocking coverage, no 3G whatsoever, crap customer support, and they cut my simcard off about a hour after my contract ended. Literally, just cut it off. It crashed my mobile, and it told me "Invalid SIM". Load of bullsh*t IMO. |

Just spent half an hour on the phone to them. They won't transfer the contract over the phone, they'll only do it... OVER THE PHONE. Yes i've been told that in order to get the contract in my name (so that I can get this bloody thing repaired) they have to send out some documents, and when i've received them I have to phone them back so that I can transfer the account. I hate these delaying tactics. |

On the other hand they do have some very enterprising staff. |

Hm, well I've got one on the way and will give it a go. I've got 7 days to return it if I'm not happy. |

I've been with T-Mobile for 12 years, since they were one2no-one. Their customer service is excellent and their prices are unbeatable. My only gripe is their woeful coverage. Trouble is, having been with them for 12 years, I don't want to swap now. When they were taken over by T-Mobile they gave me fifty quid for having been with them so long, which was nice. |
