I ordered a CD boxset a couple days ago which was described as: CDs have some fairly light scratches but play fine - outer box is a little bit worn but in one piece. Thing is, my Plextor won't read one of the discs for EAC or even Winamp. My Sony seperates CD player will, but it skips. Should I leave bad feedback? Never done that before. It cost me £6.50 + £2p&p, so part of me just thinks chalk it up and order a sealed version of the same collection for another £20 like I shoulda done in the first place. But if it's not as described? What d y'all think? |

I'm with Finlay, ask the seller for a refund stating the reasons above, if they decline, then you can considering negative feedback. |

My first response would be to email the seller, give them a chance to offer reparation or something before you leave feedback, it's possible they were selling it for someone else and didn't know, or just hadn't used/played it and went based on what they could see. |

I'd heard that negative feedback was just a nightmare, as you're then likely to get it in return and that'd ruin my 100%? |

Ask the seller for a partial refund. If they say no, ask for a full refund. If they say no, threaten a partial refund through paypal. If they still do nothing, leave neg feedback. |

If memory serves correct sellers can't leave negative feedback now in most circumstances |

Sellers cant leave negative feedback for buyers now. Im not even sure they can in any circumstances (perhaps not paying...). Anyway, go on Paypal and file a SNAD claim, (significantly not as described). If seller responds you pay return P&P if he doesnt then he does ![]() Just put the claim as described as fully working arrived not to fully working lol. (you get the P&P you paid him back as well I do believe if you claim the full amount). However if you message him before this its best, just explain the situation, ask for a refund / return and see if he agrees to refund you. If he does then a neutral is more appropriate, as I highly doubt it was intentional. (you could always lower his rather important DSR's with the feedback ![]() (item number/????) |

Thanks guys. Contacted the seller and he has offered a full refund on return of the CDs. Also found a brand new sealed box for £14.99 delivered. Winner! |

I was just about to post this when you replied ![]() If you're left with the CDs at the end of it all, I've fixed many a scratched disc by grinding some toothpaste into it before washing it off (toothpaste's grittiness effectively sands down the outer plastic layer) ![]() |

People have often talked about using fine car polish to do a similar thing with CDs. |

Excellent. Most people on eBay aren't out there to rip you off. Some are but in this case, I think the pair of you were just a bit unlucky. Glad to hear it all worked out. |
