Avatars on the left or the right?

Post subject:  Avatars on the left or the right?
There seems to be divided opinion on this. Personally I prefer these on the right-hand side now, but what do you think the default should be?

I realise I could just change theme to get it back, but then I miss out on the lovely logo ;).

Indeed. ;)

Come on - boxes are very easily gotten rid of! IMO they definitely break up the thread, and appear separate from the post they are supposed to identify.

I agree that the white boxes are pretty awful. Easily gotten rid of? Not so sure, I'm no code monkey. :)

I was used to having them on the left in the old place, then I got used to having them on the right in the new place. I really don't mind, I'm not such an old dog that I can't learn new tricks 8-)

Blind in my left Eye so right is always better to see your smiling avatars. :lol: :lol:

I voted left, but Matt has a good point. Although I can have the window wide enough for the avatar and post and still display 720p video without having to sideways scroll.

It took me a while to get used to the change from left to right.

I think it would make it easier for new users if they were on the left.

Yep, I prefer them on the left - you naturally scan posts left to right, so it seems the best option for me anyway.
