Very clear sky tonight.

Had a look round and even with all the light pollution from Leeds you could still see a fair few constellations.

Didn't have a star chart handy though so had to guess my way around a few.

The brightest thing in the sky though was Saturn! I didn't realise it was so bright and originally thought it was Venus but upon checking the star chart at home I was wrong.

I didn't even know you could see Saturn with the naked eye.

Also, Sirius was extremely bright, second brightest after Saturn, and madly twinkling very blue.

Next brightest was Procyon, also twinkling away very blue.

Anyone else got a good view tonight?

The last couple of nights have been quite clear down here. Orion has been over my back garden recently, usually the first thing I spot.

Yeah, I spotted the usual three also.

Orion, Ursa Major and Cassiopeia (sp?). Also solaris (deduced from Ursa Major). :D

I think I'm going to start learning some more constellations. Leo should be easy to recognise if I can work out the position relative to the others.

Was round at a friends and went out for a fag and ended up staring at the sky for ages. Couldn't tell you what I saw as I don't know any of them!
