1: Ive tried to research on this as im curious but I know someone who swears that if you drink alcohol it apparently damages the spirit within your body? is this true? or just speculation? The person who said this to me said to stay away from all pubs as they all give off bad vibes and by drinking an alcohol will effectivly damage the spirit ![]() ![]() 2: As im slowly giving up alcohol (already given up vodka) I sound like an alcaholic by the way im wording this but I only drink once a month usually, saying that it was 2 times this week ![]() ![]() |

lol at monkey ![]() All that spirit crap is just that - crap. As for the rosey cheeks etc, it's most likely a coincidence. I don't reckon drinking twice a week is going to change your appearance much, even in the short term and any short term change would probably just be looking pale and/or tired. Just relax and do what you want to do bratty, and enjoy doing it. |

The answer to your first question would be: It depends who you asked. My house mate doesn't believe we have a soul, so his response would be no. I do believe we have a soul, but I don't think alcohol damages it. Enjoying a drink every now and again is good, everything in moderation. |

1. Does the alcoholic spirit damage the human spirit? Absolutely. People will say that it "raises their spirit", but if you stay sober while those around you become ever more drunk and ridiculous then you'll clearly see that they're being reduced to a "lower state of conciousness". Alcohol is a way people use to escape from their inner selves. They us it to forget their troubles and have a good laugh. They use it to remove themselves from their true spirit. The more they drink, the more rubbish they say and the more foolish things they do. Many of these things will cause regret and bad karma. If you're there, the karma rubs off. People die and families break up because of alcoholism, and the levels of alcohol consumed regularly by many many people are easily at the level that damages them. It's a depressant. You feel low afterwards. It causes problems when you try to think, work and generally function in society. It doesn't have to be bad. I think friends drinking together occasionally is a good release. Getting totally wasted, or drinking too often? Clearly not good in the long term. Some drinking establishments are very different to others. The lounge I go to on Fridays is very polite. Some bar in the middle of town? I hate them. Very negative vibes... 2. Rosy cheeks? Probably got them for life. It's damaged blood vesels. Could be from alcohol, or maybe he rides a bike in cold weather. You'll need a medic to give you an informed opinion. I've never seen anyone recover from a "boozers red nose". I'm an alcoholic. I have plenty of experience. |

JJ's on it. Moderation and awareness are key. Your spirit (or void as the Japanese call it) is easy to "fill" with rubbish. Too much casualness in a variety of areas can damage it. Sex, alcohol, drugs, gambling and other things. Doesn't make any of those things wrong, I enjoy them all from time to time ![]() |

Sounds like rubbish to me, and I really don't think that pubs don't give off bad vibes.
Ok, two points I want to make. Firstly I didn't think it was the amount or the frequency of the drinking that made an alcoholic it was the dependency. I used to go out boozing 4 or 5 times a week, as well as most lunchtimes,(and I'm talking a LOT of booze - mainly a heady mix of whisky and stella, with 4 or 5 pints not being unusual before heading back to work) when I lived down south, but when I moved up north I just stopped. Change of circumstance, change of lifestyle, and now I rarely drink. Was I an alcoholic? I don't think so. It was just the culture at the time. Also, you say "My alcoholic friend" - Why am I thinking by the way you say that we should all have an alcoholic friend... a token alcy, if you will. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It depends on what you'd consider a "vibe" exactly. Like I said above, there are some pubs make me feel very uncomfortable. Some have fights all the time, and other's are meat markets. Now they're smoke-free, I think you can actually smell the fear. |
