Gah I hate it! Confused.com are con artists, my best quote was apparently £450 with swiftcover, with £18 for legal cover and courtesy car included.... No it wasnt. £460 with a £700 excess!!! (car is only worth £2k being generous given the spec/condition) Legal cover £25, courtesy car £18 That is over £500..... Such a pain doing it, need to get a move on too as it's due on the 2nd ![]() |

try going to swiftcover [and some of the others] directly and see what they quote you... it'll most likely be cheaper than *insert price comparison site* here... |

Don;t forget to check out both third party and fully comp, as the latter can sometimes be cheaper.... ![]() |

Check Direct Line - they don't appear on the comparison websites and they're often cheaper for the same level of cover. Also, going direct is better as you don't pay comission to the comparison website. |

From personal experience, please don't skip legal cover. If you ever need it and you don't have it - you'll know about it. What car? Any mods? |

I had a cracking quote on Confused.com with Bell (part of the Admiral group). It included courtesy car and legal and windscreen as standard and my excess was £160 (£100 compulsary). When I gave them a call the price went up a little as the price you get quoted is if you pay it all straight away. I chose monthly payments so got charged a bit of interest. |

Hi, I tried a few of the comaprison sites when my car was due for renewal. Swift Cover came up the cheapest, but it was defaulting to a £500 excess, and would not go down. So I went to them directly, plugged in the data directly and got a far, far better quote. I tried this with a few other sites, and found that their prices were lower than through the comparison sites. Swift Cover has saved me about £30 a month on premiums with a £200 excess. For some reason, Direct Line wanted far more this year, despite me having a clean license and maximum no claims. I tried to talk them down, but they could not match Swift Cover by a long mile. Clearly Iggy Pop’s fees are less than Stephen Fry and Paul Merton’s ![]() Clearly, use confused, com to do the leg work, and then fine tune the results by going direct to the companies with the best offers. Oh - Compare the Market will phone you up about more phone quotes, and some of their insurers will too. Be warned. |

Going fully comp anyway, 3rd party was £100-200 more
I did swiftcover manually after, same price.
More expensive, looking at £700 almost
I plan to get it, it's just annoying when confused/moneysupermarket say x + y is included, yet I pay an extra £40 for it.....
I would pay it off in one go, don't want another monthly drain and paying an extra £50-100 when I can afford it anyway. I guess I should start to get creative with my job title ![]() Shame I can't inform the company just how secure the car park is at work, should bring itdown a fair bit yet most dont care where it is parkd during the day |

I find Direct Line cheap for fully comp. For 3rd party I've used Direct Choice in the past. |

I'm pretty sure confused advertise the fact that the price on their site is the same as the company would give you, dont they? |

It wasn’t, and I was able to make adjustments on the Swift Cover site that confused.com would not pass through, such as voluntary excess. |

Just out of interest, have you tried Churchill? I have always found them to be the cheapest and their call centres are excellent. I needed to add my sister to the cover for a week and they did it completely free of charge without any admin fees ![]() Peter. |

Actually, that's not true. I used confused.com and found a great quote with eSure. Upon ringing eSure, they couldn't match the confused.com price. |
