http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/news ... load-2010/ | | | | Quote: Other bands on the bill to include Them Crooked Vultures, Stone Temple Pilots, Deftones, Megadeth and Motörhead. Come inside for ticket details. Download festival organisers have today confirmed that AC/DC will be one of the headliners for this year’s festival, taking place at Donington Park 11-13 June. AC/DC will be appearing at Donington for the fourth time. They first appeared at the second Monsters Of Rock concert in 1981, and then in 1984 and 1991. The year 2010 will mark three decades of AC/DC at Donington Park – and their debut performance at Download. The festival’s arena capacity will be increased to help satisfy demand for tickets – and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Monsters Of Rock. Last year’s event sold out at 85,000 per day. The increased arena size this year will make Download the biggest UK music festival after Glastonbury. Andy Copping, Download festival promoter, commented: “Download 2010 will be one for the history books. It will see the return of the world’s greatest rock band to the most legendary and spiritual home of rock. “We have been pushing for this moment for many years, but for this to become reality alongside the likes of Them Crooked Vultures, Motörhead and Megadeth is the best 30th anniversary of the site we could have dreamed of. “It’s also going to be a fantastic tribute to [late concert promoter] Maurice Jones who started this all off back in 1980.” Further additions to the bill include Bullet For My Valentine, Wolfmother and Volbeat. Weekend tickets for Download 2010 go on sale at 9am Friday 29 January via http://www.downloadfestival.co.ukPrices are as follows: Weekend tickets: £145 Standard or family camping (3 days): £25 Standard or family camping (5 days): £35 Campervan supplement: £40 Campsite lockers: £11 Advance parking (until 31 May): £15 – or £20 on the day | | | | |
That'll be some gig, anyone here considering it? It would work out altogether too expensive for me I'm afraid

They're only a bad choice if you don't agree with their right-wing politics. RATM redeemed you though.

I wouldn't pay for Download this year. Seeing a bunch of 70 years old on a stage is not rock n roll

I'm into a lot of modern rock, but it still doesn't come anywhere near the older stuff, unfortunately Some bands to try out on Spotify/Grooveshark/wherever: Alterbridge Priestess Saliva The Answer (Ulster band, bit of every rock influence really, brilliant ) The Almighty (older band that one)
