Just watched BBC news and a teenager in Haiti made me chuckle (please don't think I'm being insensitive, obviously the situation in Haiti is terrible and these are his words not mine).
When asked by the BBC news presenter "Your taking part in a live video link with British school children (to explain the situation in Haiti), how do you feel at the moment (about the situation in Haiti)?
His response was, " I don't know, its terrible I can't concentrate on my homework or anything."

Genius. I was much amused by an account of a conversation that occurred between one of my mates from work and their boss when they received a box of a new type of gloves for use in the lab. It went something like this: At this point someone else I know who was in the vicinity went a fairly impressive luminous red colour and had to walk away. Science is fun kids!

The final words of a health and safety lecture to 4th year undergrads: "Remember: be safe wear protection." *sniggers* "Oh, grow up."

OK, I've started an experiment. I posted a comment on that video at 20:41. I'm going to see how long it takes for me to get called "Gay, lame, nazi, etc...". I love trolling youtube users P.S. I don't seem to be able to post. I keep getting SQL errors.

SQL errors occur if you use extended characters, which is gay. tbh I can't agree with your post unless you actually studied the course specifications and analysed the paper. I suspect you did not. I know from past experience that a lot of exam papers are abysmally written, and for all I know this may be a particularly bad example.

I've been trying to find a copy of the Biology paper but have so far only seen 1 sheet on facebook. If anyone finds it then please post a link.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

You sound like someone with first hand experience of this exam. What is the deal with it? What is the thing that everyone is complaining about? It sounds to me like people were told that a number of questions would probably appear and they didn't.

winging kids that need there hands held when given an exam. When I were a lad, back in the day , the three exams I had for biology were after 2 years of intense study that couldnt cover the syllabus and thus you had to decide what you were and were not going to revise and hope you got lucky. So guess what I revised the stuff I had done and some extra stuff. going as they say beyond what I had been spoonfed. <tries to leave grumpy old man status >

not quite, i have first hand experience of my friends whinging about it though the mass knicker-twisting is because aparently almost half the topics they were told would be featured in the exam werent, and were replaced with question on shrews, geese and faunagoo (as detailed in the song), and a couple of questions that werent even on the course specification. if one or two people said it was silly, then fair enough, but from the number of angry groups on facebok, and even a mention in the news, it seems pretty genuine

Found a link to the paper if anyone is interested. ClickyOnly had a quick look so far but haven't compared it to the Syllabus which can be found here.
