Apologies for yet another delay - my home puter is playing up and it took me all last night to get it running (I'm not quite as technically gifted as you chaps).

Anyway, voting for the comp starts now and runs until midnight on Sunday 7th Feb.

The rules:

* Voting occurs for one week from midnight on the last day of each month until midnight on the seventh day of the month.

* Please vote for your favourite three images.

* You cannot vote for your own image*

Your 1st choice will be awarded 5 points.
Your 2nd choice will be awarded 3 points.
Your 3rd choice will be awarded 1 point.

If there is a draw on say for example 15 points, then the image with the least number of votes will win, such that an image with 3 votes for 5 points will defeat the image with 5 votes for 3 points. It won't be the '2nd best' for everyone, but it will be the 'best' for the few. If it's good enough for a Grand Prix then it is good enough for here.

Please try and keep this thread for votes only, it will make it easier for me to tally up later. If you must comment on images and decisions then please do so in the original thread (once it is unlocked).

This thread will run for 1 week only. At that time the winner will have the option of choosing the next theme, and the deadline for entries to that theme will be the end of the current month.

Most importantly, good luck to all entrants.

Al

As a quick reminder, here's a link to the piccies...Linky to pics...

How Old?

I never really found a suitable candidate for my first choice, but the one below is what I had in mind when I first saw this theme.

1. Left to rot. (I quite want to rescue it and build a hot rod. And it's a nice picture as well.)
2. The Gaurniad.
3. How Old?

1) Left to rot - I'm not getting into any debate about processing, I just think it looks incredible.
2) History - A close second, very cool pic.
3) The Guardian - I almost submitted a similar pic, glad I didn't because this one is much better.

Lots of black and white photos this month.

When the voting is over could the person who took this let us know what kind of effects or processing were applied in camera or otherwise. I'm not up for an argument (I didnt even enter this month) I'm just curious. I really like the picture by the way. I'll vote later when I have chance to look through them all properly.

Sadly all the great ideas I had for this topic are still bouncing around in my head. Had I managed to submit one of them, I'm sure it would indeed have caused a stir in the bottom half of the results table

Anyway, can't fault the standard this month so here are the votes from sunny Lossie:

1. History
2. Vintage
3. The Guardian

Well done to all who submitted.....

Al

* I will get round to submitting one next month...maybe *

1. The Guardian - very moody, love it
2. Ask your Grandad - made me smile, thing is it's true!
3. Industria - torn between this and "left to rot", but my doubts about the latter's possible post-production swung it the other way, lovely image though.

Great selection this month. I just never got round to shooting one.
