I've only seen trailers for this movie, but it strikes me that Morgan Freeman playing Nelson Mandela doing Morgan Freeman impressions is not far from the mark. A pity Hollywood didn't think hiring South African actors to play the key parts might have worked, rather than parachute in names. ![]() |

District 9 is so much a better film than Avatar is. It's probably the best film I saw all last year, and I watched quite a few films. Mark |

I saw this film without knowing anything about it other than WWII, Nazis and Jews, and assumed it would be serious after having seen Defiance a couple of weeks beforehand. You know, how it seems that several very similar films come along at the same time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyway I really enjoyed it but the gf almost walked out. I've paid many times over for that mistake, but sometimes it is fun just to walk into the cinema and watch a film, any film. |

If you want to get in to the voting process of the Academy Awards in relation to this years nominations here would be a good place to start. From a personal point of view I understand Tom Rothman's stance at the start of the article. Mark |
