I went training last night (wearing gloves) and was training outside for an hour. It is something I have done all the way through the winter with not too many problems. Last night though, I got to the end of training and literally couldn't feel my finger tips of my middle three fingers on my right hand. I got into my car and took my gloves off and the fingers were actually blue down to just past the first knuckle from the end. I was constantly swinging my arms and flexing my fingers throughout the training to try and avoid this and my gloves keep my hands 100% dry if not warm. It took about 15 minutes of driving my car with air vent blowing not very warm air (I've done the whole cold hands into hot air thing in the past and it isn't pleasant) over my hands before they got their colour back. This is the second time ever that I remember being this bad. Is there anything I can do to try and improve my circulation down to my finger tips? |

Sounds like Raynaud's phenomenon. Most common in women. More pathognomic if occurs in men under (or above) a certain age - can't remember which! Watch your fingers to make sure they don't drop off! ![]() EDIT: Not meant to be normal if starts occurring over the age of 20. Supposedly. |

I have a friend with that. It's funny to watch him turn blue-y grey with orange spots. |

It's lupus!!! ![]() [/House] also...
LOL! I guess that means not training outdoors in almost freezing temperatures wearing only shorts and a t-shirt. Duly noted, will keep my long sleeved top on from now on. Does anyone watch QI? They debunked the belief that most body heat is lost through the head the other week. |

What sort of gloves do you have? I use these for Snowboarding. They might not be practical for whatever training you're doing, but they are the best gloves I've ever had and mean that I only need one pair now because my hands stay dry and I don't need to dry one pair for a whole day while wearing the other pair! |

Gloves clicky These are the gloves I use. Mainly because they are completely waterproof. Once your hands are warm they stay warm in them. My problem is the fact that my hands don't get warm in the first place. |

They look pretty decent. Maybe you should warm your hands before putting the gloves on and training? |

What about those heat up gel pad things? ![]() They give out constant heat for about an hour, then you just boil them in a pot to get them back to their original state - good for hundreds of goes some of them apparently ![]() |

I thought about them but I don't know if they would work with the training I do. Maybe if I found some small ones to go at the backs of my hands. |

Mittens are also great if the training allows. |

My mom has a severe condition a bit like this. They tried treating it for a while by giving her LSD tablets daily ![]() |
