I've just been looking at a mobile that the wife is discussing with a T-Mobile rep on the phone. I went to the O2 website and within a minute I had someone from O2 phoning me to ask if I'd like to jon them!

Coincidence?

What do you think?

:?

One of the price comparison websites I used for my car insurance phoned me up shortly after I got a list of quotes with some special “phone only” deals. I told them that I didn’t want a phone call. They seemed quite surprised.

Every year, I get calls from insurance companies for quotes despite the fact that I haven't spoken to anyone other than my own insurer for three years. It all started when I used confused.com.

Last year I let them womble through the quote, and informed them it was still about £200 more than I was getting on the site.

Idiots.

that's why companies allow the comparison sites to display their details its a great way of harvesting huge amounts of peoples data :D

It worked out cheaper to go direct to the insurers - I got a better deal than the price comparison sites gave me. This year I’ll just go to a few sites and make my decisions that way. More work for me, but less aggro in the long run.

I do price comparison website, find the best deal, then shut my browser (to kill the sessions off) and then go back to the site via Quidco and get the cashback.
