I don't think we've "celebrated" Shrove Tuesday for years.
  But, to paraphrase, scoff-chomp-scoff.

I have a friend coming over for supper this evening. Spent a fair while yesterday trying to think what I could do for desert, before twigging what day it was going to be.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

My niece doesn't believe in God, the Bible or Jesus. But she's giving up chocolate for Lent. Pancakes ahoy!

Had pancakes last night... I am surprised that nobody has started one of those oh-so-interesting "How do you do yours" type polls, with the usual sugar and lemon, just sugar, savoury, pie type options...

That has the makings of a really interesting experiment. Now then, what sort of pancake should they be? Mark

I am a traditional lemon and sugar pancake person. Though also nice with ice cream.

Chocolate spread on pancakes is really nice. Otherwise it's just sugar for me, no lemon.
