I met with an old friend of mine while I was up in the Smoke on Thursday.
She and her boyfriend were caught up in the Mumbai terror attacks, and it's now looking like Will won't walk again. He's still in hospital, in fact, and to date he's had twelve operations to repair the damage done.
Because it was a terrorist attack, there is no compensation to help get his life back on track - moving flat, making the adjustments necessary to the new place, physio, counselling etc.
So, they've set up an appeal to help meet the costs of Will's future in a wheelchair, and to help apply a bit of pressure on the government to change the situation. After all, if money can be found to clean a moat and redecorate a flat, you'd imagine there's a bit floating around to help someone who's had his life changed in such a horrific way.
