Started watching MARS the other day. Five episodes in and it's seriously depressing.

It doesn't help that it is frequently interspersed with cuts to present day monologues from academics talking about the challenges facing a manned mission to Mars. It's worse that those cuts in the first couple of eps are little more than SpaceX banner waving. I like Elon Musk and the SpaceX agenda, but it's a sh!te thing to do to a drama.

I think I only managed two, and got bored. Actually, I forgot it was on.

Looks like there are only six eps in total, but then so was The Night Manager, and that was great.

This... not so much. I was kinda hoping for more on the engineering challenges they faced as new problems arose, but it all went a bit flat.

13 Reasons Why on Netflix

Watch it

The premise had me interested but a fair few episodes in and I'm thinking it's just another teen-angst-highschool drama with all the usual players - jocks, geeks, cheerleaders, etc etc. Why the hype?

By the end I was a broken man and still thinking about it days later. The final few episodes in particular are powerful, emotional, draining and well worth persevering though any initial doubts you might have.

It's definitely one to make you think. Glad you persevered.

Not sure if you know but the book was set in the past and the show added in the rest. Each tape was only 3 minutes long and apparently available in YouTube

Utterly brilliant finale to Billions last night. Probably one of the best shows on TV at the moment. Roll on 2018.

I see that there's a Dredd TV show being developed.
No network or streaming service involved yet, it's really at the very beginning of the process, but this leaves me wondering about the future of Karl Urban in the role.

As Paul “Mr Biffo” Rose pointed out on Twitter the other day, lots of comic based shows are developed. Not many make it to anything near a series. We’ll have to see how this goes.

Roseanne is coming back. Yay!

Roseanne is definitely coming back

And if you're getting attached to Rosewood, Aquarius, The Blacklist: Redemption, Sleepy Hollow or The Catch don't... they've been cancelled

Every single US TV show that's been axed in 2017
