So I'll be ditching the 3Gs when (if) the new iPhone is released, but I'm thinking of changing from O2 to Orange or Vodafone.

My question, is there an independent site to see true 3G coverage?

Each site should have their own map of 3G coverage.

I haven't seen one that does them all though.

I've looked at O2's and its a tonne of garbage, 2 places I know are O2 dead zones it shows you get normal service (not 3G, just voice and text).

They all are, I have full standard coverage on orange at my house....on my phone I have nothing or 1 bar. Same with T-Mobile.

In a recent What Laptop, Vodafone had the highest average speed, but only just. None of them really achieved the speeds they claimed to supply.
In the week I,ve had a smart phone, I've has no speed issues with Vodafone.

From what I understand in terms of nationwide coverage - Vodafone has the fastest overall speed (but not everywhere), but Orange has the most complete 3G coverage.

TBH I don't think it's possible for any network to guarantee that you will have coverage in a particular area.

You might live/work in an old stone building with thick stone walls. Otherwise the area has good coverage but you can barely get a signal inside, etc...

Your best bet is to ask people who work/live/whatever in and around the places you will be spending most of your time and go with the best one of the selection.
