Welcome to the final heat of Round 1.

Rather belated this week as I spent all day either with the car or playing with penguins.

Round 1, Heat 13
============================

Cadbury's Dairy Milk
Fry's Turkish Delight
Lindt Excellence Mint Intense
Nestle Galaxy milk chocolate
Nestle Smarties
After Eight Bitesize (aka Mintola or Mint Munchies)

Heat 14 and the first chocolate bar I actually remember fondly - Fry's Turkish Delight! I used to get it as a treat, when we went to the cinema, when I was a child. :)

Depends if it’s an air brick or not, I suppose.

Turkish Delight is vile and Galaxy is way too sweet. The others I can take or leave.

Doh! Dairy Milk and Smarties in the same round. How am I supposed to chose just one of them?

I'd suggest extensive sampling.

I'm voting Dairy Milk. It's a classic.

I've voted for Dairy Milk.
I'm amazed that there are no votes for Smarties yet.

I'm going to get a bit heretic here but.. smarties are fine; they're just not very nice chocolate.

Hadn't had any in donkey's years and I tried some recently. They're still nice sweets and the shells are still satisfyingly crunchy but the chocolate inside is actually pretty bad. It's a bit like someone said about Cadbury's Buttons in a previous round. If you took the chocolate from inside a lump of smarties and made a bar out of it, it wouldn't get within a mile of this poll.

I would still eat the odd handful of smarties if they were offered; there's something deeply and inexplicably satisfying about them. But as a chocolate, they're actually rubbish.
