Well I got my Parliamentary and Local Government Election forms through the post today.

The usual suspects appear on the General Election, Tories, Labour and Lib Dems.

What took me by surprise was the Local Election.

Tory, Labour & Lib Dems plus:

UKIP
BNP
NF (WTF?!)

Yup, the National Front. I haven't heard of them since the Tory days of the 80s.

So, who do you have on yours, any odd balls?

We held council elections last year.

Sadly, the Con candidate won. He's a cretinous, bankrupt, slimy toerag, who married a former boss of mine and nearly brought the company I worked for to its knees. How he managed to wheedle his way into being a councillor defeats me, but I can only suppose a deal of @rse-licking and palm greasing took place.

Can you tell I don't like the man?

I don't think the fact he is a con has anything to do with him being useless ;) There's useless people in all parties...

True, but it just adds the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

In the order I found them on a WEBSITE (and certainly not the order I will be voting in):

LEWIS ALLSEBROOK BNP.
HARDYAL DHINDSA Labour.
ANTHONY J. KAY UKIP.
PAULINE ELIZABETH LATHAM Conservative.
SALLY McINTOSH Liberal Democrats.

That's it. No Monster Raving Loony Party.

We've not had any of them knocking on the door yet. Though I did see a Tory booth up in town the other day.

I was just surprised by the National Front as a choice. They must all be closet fascists around here because there's no outwardly obvious signs of it. :?

All it takes is two closet fascists. One to stand for election and another to nominate them in the first place. They're bound to loose their fee though as not enough people will vote for them to get a refund.

How many do you need in order to get your refund?

I had a quick look after you said, the worrying thing was that in th 2008 local elections they got 242 votes (0.42%).

It was down by 0.61% though so although there were 242 too many votes the pattern is going downwards, thankfully.

I think it's 1%

I have a Green and a Christian Party candidate for the general election. Oh, the Tory candidate is a producer for Monumental Games (moto gp). There's the usual Labour and lib Dem thrown in too but its a safe Labour seat.
