This time, the original director Ridley Scott is onboard, and it sounds pretty much like he’s got something he can bring to the camera. SPOILERSv v v v This Article on Dark Horizons has some interesting snippets: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/16980/ ... en-prequelI feel somewhat excited by this news. I really hope the studios leave Scott to work his magic, and GTFO out of micromanaging it. This is what ruined Alien 3, and I reckon 4 as well as the AVP films.

This is cool. I just skimmed the article and I'll read it properly when I get home. I first posted about the Alien prequel back in November last year on my forum. I'll add this link to that thread.

This is more or less the same piece that pcernie linked to in his movie news thread. Good news, nonetheless.

I don't go in there. There's too much stuff gets posted that I'm not interested in for me to keep hitting that thread whenever something new gets posted. Mark

BBC News site contains more information. Which sounds like they are chasing tech with tech. I hope Scott still remembers what the word “story” means, because I am not sure if Cameron has got that the the front of his mind. They should just collaborate on it. Cameron can do the tech stuff, Scott can do the story.

Nooooo. I'd much rather have Ridley's vision and art direction than that of James Cameron. Mark

The film will be made in 3D - something Cameron knows a lot about given how long he took to make Avatar. He could easily bring his mind to that side of the job, and let Scott make more of the creative decisions. I think Cameron knows how to do 3D, but is losing the craft of telling a story as a result.

(+1 Mark) Why? if the story line is strong [LIFTED] the 3D bit.... just make it a good film to watch on the big screen.

Also expect sound, and possibly colour.

Droll, very droll. I believe I've outlined my take on 3D elsewhere on these boards so I shan't go through it again. Mark
