Random thread, what do you like on your toast?

I think my favourite is peanut butter, spread thickly with a cup of tea.
Though I quite like jam on cold toast..And cheese is always good, with tomato puree of course :wink:

Usually just butter/margarine - and plenty of it!

The hotter the toast the better too, if it goes cold or soggy then I've got to bin it.

2 options? That's just too restricting. Depending on my mood:

- butter
- jam
- honey
- peanut butter
- cheese
- baked beans +/- cheese
- scrambled or boiled egg

My absolute favourite is cheese. I very rarely have it by itself though; usually I end up with something a lot like a pizza. I nearly always put olives and tomatoes on. And garlic. And peppers, and maybe mushrooms. Ham, bacon or salami are good too. Or beans. My microwave-grill combi does it perfectly in about 30 seconds :D

Out of the others, Marmite is my favourite. I often have it in combination with cottage cheese or peanut butter, or both. I do have it with just margarine sometimes though.

I rarely have peanut butter by itself. Usually with Marmite, or sometimes with Marmalade. That's very filling.

Today I had toast with a poached egg. I wonder where I got that particular craving from :lol:

Butter and either

Honey or Jam, (Strawberry or Pineapple, but it's got to be the really fruity stuff, none of this "no bits" nonsense) or sometimes just butter.

Occasionally a combination of egg/beans/sausages/bacon though obviously not all at once. Ok, sometimes ;)

How on earth do you get a cup of tea to spread your peanut butter?
Or did you mean you like the tea on the toast as well? Wouldn't that make the bread all soggy and impossible to pick up? (8+p

Doesn't that depend on, (among other things) the temperature of the tea, and the thickness of the peanut butter?

i voted cheese and jam, but i also really really ravioli on toast, in a similar style to beans on toast. ive been eating it all study leave and its insanely tasty ^^

Marmalade for me, thick cut and chunky. That's for breakfast, but for a snack I also like a nice pâté with lashings of butter.

It has to be really thick cut bread, too, though I don't mind if it's white or granary.

My favourite as well, except that I use a knife to spread mine. I find the tea spills to easily otherwise.
