Discuss all the latest news here. Debate any proposed policies. Slag off any politicians you want. Let us know who you're likely to vote for.
The latest election news can be found HERE.

(NB. You vote can be changed at the politicians sway your opinion. ;) )

As this thread will be around for the next month or so, do you think it should be a sticky?

NO STICKY!!!

If any party can pledge to make stickies illegal then they'll win my vote.

I'm reserving my final choice for May 6. I sort of know which way I want to vote, but I have to see if there's a candidate first.

Sadly, it's not going to be me. Not this time round, anyway.

Can't/won't vote locally as there's nobody I can remotely believe in. If there was a 'None of the above' option I'd be there like a shot...

I don't trust any of the three main parties in the UK to be truly effective either

I'll more than likely be voting for the LibDems again this year.

Are you registered for when you're 18? In the 1997 election I registered on a form they sent round (Oct 1996) because I was 18 before the next form would be sent (Oct 1997). Even though I was still 17 on the day of the election I was still sent a polling card.
(I decline to say on a public form whether I used it of not ;) )

I doubt they would nullify the result just based on that ;)

I wonder if it'll come to pass that we'll have a hung parliament with the balance of power held by the likes of the SNP and Plaid Cymru?
I also wonder if it's too late to stand as an MP for the SNP down here in Devon?

I'll be voting for any party other than Labour

Saw GB on telly the other day saying only the Labour Party could help get the country on to the road to recovery - wtf! It is his party that got us in this mess in the first place and now he wants another 5 years to feck it up even more  I dont think so.

I'm voting for the Lib Dems, mostly for two reasons:

1) They're the only party who have been consistent on civil liberties - I don't trust the Conservatives to defend my freedom beyond scrapping ID Cards. The Lib Dems have proposed a whole raft of policies including making it harder for public authorities to put CCTV everywhere.

2) I like their plan to raise the tax threshold to £10,000. Not only will this have the benefit of helping out the poorest people the most, but most people will be £700 per annum better off (on average). That's £50-£60 per month I'd welcome with open arms, especially with the way the cost of food and fuel is going.
