Its very good IMO (missus has one). Screen is lovely, touch works well, browsing is good, etc etc. I was annoyed at not being able to get rid of the Orange preinstalled stuff (although I just changed the homepage of their browser and removed their app store shortcut for the proper android one) and I had to work out how to stop it adding every single facebook contact to the address book, but apart from those niggles its spot on.

Having 5 homescreens is good too. She has it setup with 1) web bookmarks, 2) weather, 3) home (with shortcuts to internet, mail, etc), 4) google searchbar [with voice activated searches! :D ] and camera/video shortcuts, and 5) Facebook.

She has to charge it everyday but she's on it all the time and has WiFi constantly on.

There are none available yet but keep an eye out Here

there will be HTC vendor neutral updates you can flash your phone to to remove the branding cr@pware

I've just got off the phone with T-Mobile. I got a Hero last year and its stuck on android 1.5 with no news of any update to 2.1 any time soon. hoping they will let me upgrade to a desire...

Apart from all the nice extras 2.1 has there are some really important business tools etc I could really be doing with utilising.

Will this have any warranty/support issues with Orange though?

well theres the thing, I would say do it at your own risk. its an HTC supported ROM (or will be when released) but Orange may spit the dummy out as its sold to you as an orange asset.

Mine should be arriving today. :-D

Sadly, I am on campus and praying one of my housemates picks it up for me. :-(
