No Micro-USB charger, Apple look set to give a middle finger after signing the agreement to bring them in to their new phones this year, adapter or not it's still undermining the agreement with other phone manufacturers

I hope it is - it looks pretty good. I've been an android supporter since getting my G1 and being very happy with it, but i'm frustrated by it so much that i'm tempted to switch sides.. And my contract is due to expire I like the flatness of this - matches the lovely-looking iPad very well!

The article seems pretty coherent, I'm just slightly surprised they didn't open it in a sealed environment, surely wiping must have been a distinct possibility!
It does look very nice though, I quite glad I didn't upgrade when my 3G contract finished.

Just chatting to a friend of mine who used to work for Apple. It seems reasonably convincing to her. She did say it's almost certainly cost someone their job, and it'll be someone pretty damned high up too if they've got a working prototype. Highly unlikely to be a deliberate leak or even a piece of misdirection.

Or there will be an adapter for it which connects via the dock connector. Sounds silly, but given the iPad has an SD card adapter… If the customer needs it, they will buy it mentality.

If I had a working prototype iPhone I would not let it out of my sight. I thought all iPhone users were like that?

Either way, if it's a prototype it's almost by definition not what the final product will look like. Gruber's got an interesting blog post about how Apple patented a form of radio transparent 'glass ceramic' in 2006 that would make an ideal material to make a phone from if you aren't going to make it from metal of some sort. So I'd expect the next iPhone (or maybe the one after that) to at least look like it's made entirely of glass.

There is no "if a customer needs it they will buy it" mentality available. Apple agreed to make all phones they make from 2010 onwards compatible with micro usb chargers, not "compatible if you buy more junk". It's another 2 fingered salute from the Apple crowd, and the fanboys still lap it up

I imagine that if it is not directly compatible then they will provide a micro USB adapter with the phone.

I bet Apple are glad that they have a remote kill feature in the phone.

You mean they will sell you a compatible adaptor.

If they have signed something along these lines then no, I think they'll provide it in the box. Like Finn said, they can't just sign an agreement and then tell everyone else where to go.
