Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious.

And it's all perspective relativism. To these people, Cornwall is their country, not England. I may not agree with their extreme view, but it's their view nonetheless and they have a right to hold it. Cornwall has had a national identity at least as long as Wales (not sure about Scotland). And was seen as discrete from England by the rest of the country and abroad, as late as the 16th century. It has only been with the decline of the Cornish language that this place came to be seen as part of England.

I caught the Howard the Duck film late on ITV one night when I was a kid - even then the scene between Lea Thompson and Howard was clearly wrong on every level, but my God she looked cute :oops:
