If you can't stand the football you now have your very own thread in which to talk about shoes or veggie-burgers or whatever else it is you want to talk about...

What if you're indifferent about the whole thing? Equal rights for the indifferent!

A bunch of grown men kicking a bladder around a field for 90 minutes, whilst simultaneously getting paid more than your average A&E Doctor will see in his lifetime? What's not to hate?

I don't like soccer...it's just a sport for wussies who can't handle rugby.
Also, given that even in the 1800's William Webb Ellis was bored enough to invent rugby during a football match...it says it all doesn't it.

I only watch international tournaments, and even then don't go out of my way to do so. So a few games every couple of years isn't too bad.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Listen, I didn't spend all day drawing up protest plans only for you to change the thread title... If there was more TV progs worth watching, I'd consider getting upset about the World Cup

my daughter says a similar thing when I watch F1 - grown men racing around and around and around for 2 hours and that’s entertaining how?

But at the end of the race someone does win - a lot of football matches end 0-0 !

I used to be an avid footy fan...
... but these days I just can't be bothered with it.

QFT. Looks like I have an excuse to get hammered/stoned off my face though up at my mate's house. He's having a party of sorts, where he's invited people round to watch the Cup with him. I might suddenly take a liking to football when booze is free...

I suppose it'll make a nice change from throwing yourself round on a bike and breaking various bones, etc. :etc:

Don't worry, I'll probably find a way to hurt myself when I'm sat on a sofa. Cushions of death maybe?
