Family Guy has finished its seventh season.
American Dad has finished its fourth.
South Park finished the first half of season thirteen a few weeks back.
No more Big Bang Theory or Inbetweeners for a good while.

What else is a guy to watch whilst eating his meal?

How about sitting down at a table* and actually enjoying a meal, as in enjoying the visual aspect as well as the as the taste.

*sigh*

* table does not mean a desk with a computer keyboard sitting on it.

The IT Crowd
House (Season 5 is finished I think)
Futurama films (show them on sky atm)

Just because one has a meal does not mean that one has a table to sit down and eat it at.

The only table (flat surface capable of holding a plate and stuff) that I have access to in my (shared) house is my desk.

Anywho, things to watch.

I'm in the same situation as you as Prison Break, Lost, Heroes, Fringe and 24 have all recently finished.

I have heard a few people mention The Mentalist. That's supposed to be quite good.

I haven't watched it yet though.

To be honest, unless I'm cooking for others, most of my meals don't change a weekly - to - bi-weekly basis (I'll eat the same thing on alternate mondays etc), so taste doesn't really come into it.

Plus if it's lunchtime and I'm eating a sandwich, not much to look at

The first one was funny, the second one less so. Still have yet to download the third and fourth ones.

Even if you don't have a table what's wrong with putting a tray on your lap and just enjoying a meal without being distracted by the telly?

I don't even mean every meal every day, but occasionally just saying "right, I don't want to watch anything except my plate while I enjoy this veritable feast of fish finger sandwiches"

:)

I quite agree.

I was just making the point that I don't have a table to sit at.

I do regularly sit down with a bowl/plate on my lap and enjoy the food. I can do that sat at my desk also.

Mmmmmm.... Fish finger sandwiches.... mmmmmm.

Slight misunderstanding, I think. I meant sitting down at your computer desk actually using the computer whilst eating.

Mrs. V. doesn't like it when I sit down at my computer desk to eat. Even when the computer is switched off!

I'm now trying to remember if I've ever had a fish finger and sandwich spread sandwich. I may have one tonight, just to see what that tastes like.

:)

Might I suggest Fringe and Dollhouse?

We have a table without a keyboard on it, it's called a TV stand :-)

Mrs TeeCee has a thing about me eating over the keyboard but I can't see a problem myself, it's not like she cleans the crumbs and detritus out after all :-)

I'm only now 2 eps into Fringe as I waited for the second season pickup. I'm in a similar boat, but I have every ep ever of The Simpsons and MacGyver if I get stuck :D
I'm halfway through season 11 of The Simpsons and season 3 of Mac!

Dexter's on FX right now, no? That's freakin awesome. You should of course be plussing The Wire and watching that as well. I'm not sure if Caz is still on it, but it's possibly the best TV show ever.

This is a great call! Can I also suggest that anyone who either likes intelligent comedy with some drama, or liked the West Wing, or both (coz let's face it that SHOULD be everybody ;) ) check out Studio 60 http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/3305159/Studio-60-On-The-Sunset-Strip-The-Complete-Series/Product.html

Should never have been canned, but makes it all the more special that it only made one season. It's kinda like the Firefly of "non-cult" shows.

MacGyver

Is this show as good now as it was in the past? I remember trying to get round to watching it as a kid. I saw one ep, loved it and then tried to remember to watch it again. Unfortunately missed most of the eps. The ones I do remember involve a car being lifted into the air (?hot-air balloon ?plane) and one where MacGuyver's in a hot air balloon and there's a leak and he uses a map to fix it.

I don't want to download it and be disappointed.

I don't want to labour over this point and apologies for kinda hijacking the thread but this could be an interesting side-conversation.

@TC: Do you do the cooking or is it Mrs. TC? The reason I ask is that if it's not you that cooks, could eating over the keyboard, (whilst using your PC, obviously) be construed as slightly ungracious. Assuming that there is such a word, but you know what I mean ;)

Oh, and putting boiling water into a Pot Noodle is cooking, apparently! ;) :P

Also, maybe she's concerned about you getting indigestion...

Ok, back on topic...

They released the remastered Star Trek original series not long ago, (with brand new effects, etc)... How about a bit of Kirk, Spock and the gang to go with your Rice Crispies on toast?

:)
