not to be a sceptic, but are you sure these are real? the first one in particular looks very CGI :?

nonetheless, they are very pretty, real or not :D

Yeah, the caption “Skies over Scotland: This scene from Perthshire could help confirm the new 'Asperatus' classification” might have a clue in it. ;)

*Edit* And I still can't. For me the caption says "Asperatus comes from the Latin verb aspero, meaning "to roughen up" or "agitate". It was used by the poet Virgil to describe the surface of a choppy sea."
