24 hr threads

Postby cloaked_wolf » Fri Jul 30, 2010 9:54 am

I've not seen one in a long time. Are we ever going to have one?

Normal times are for 24 hours starting from 22:00 until the following 22:00, on the 19th of August, November, February and May.

Haven't seen one in a while either.

I used to count these.

In the days when 750 posts would win, anyway.
3.141592... you know the rest.

I vaguely recall modifying my python script to run at X404.

I won once, but now I have a child I just don't have the time to dedicate to a winning effort.

Making as many posts as possible in one dedicated thread in twenty four hours. The person with the most posts wins.
The normal spamming rules don't apply.

Does the post count from 24 hour threads get deleted when it's finished? I usually have to watch from the sidelines, I'm not dedicated enough to the cause to take the day off work, which is invariably when they run

I participated in one only, at the old place several years ago. I found it quite tough to stay involved and was never going to win compared to the major spam artists present and code monkeys. I haven't bothered since. I've learnt to pick my battles in life. No point trying if you definitely can't win

Please don't.

They're a boring, easily-cheated pissing contest, they add nothing to the forum in general and they slow everything for those that don't compete.

So in effect, you post at your normal rate but it doesn't get counted? :P
