Davros, have you tried polarised (spelling?) glasses? Really cheap now, try a curved pair to avoid side glare etc, only filters unnecessary light.

I've thought about it. I'd need prescription ones though so they wouldn't be cheap.
In any case, this morning it wasn't so much the glare (although that was indeed an issue), it was more that the sun was right in my eye-line at several stages of the journey.
