Just had a Facebook chat from an old school friend. She moved to America over 15 years ago and I haven't seen her since. She asked if FaceTime works across the pond so I said we should set up a call. O.....M.....G! It's fracking awesome! Quality was perfect! It was ridiculously simple to set up the call (i.e. the press of a button). There was absolutely zero delay in the video or audio. I even said "Hi' to her little boy OMG that was my first real FaceTime call and I'm still actually shaking from how actually awesome it was! And the best thing... once you enter FaceTime the call is free! FRACKING WOO!

Lol I would expect it to be free since it uses your Wi-Fi! I'm glad it works so well , but I have to say it sounds a lot like Skype (but perhaps better quality).

The thing I've found with Skype is that you have to know if someone has it. OK, it's the same with FaceTime (you have to have an iPhone 4) but with this you can still speak to the person and if they have an iPhone 4 then the button becomes active and you set up the call. Never really been a fan of Skype myself.

I'll be trying it for my first time when I'm in Iceland at the end of the month with a mate I have in England.

That's a compliment. Means you're a go-getter/got loads of "up'n'at'em"/feisty.

Good good. If he'd have said jizzball, then that one translates a little easier

I was rather underwhelmed with facetime. Its just a video call, no more no less.

I've really enjoyed using video calls for the last 6 years, is FaceTime really that much better that it's worth shaking about?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I've attempted several times to set up a video call. Using Skype, iChat and various other software. Never once have I managed to get it working 100% and when it has worked it was poor quality and I was stuck to my desk. This was effortless and seamless, amazing quality and just worked. And I had a face-to-face conversation with a friend I hadn't seen for 15+ years.
